Details We want to inspire the future astronomer in you. That's why you get to keep the red light wristband you receive when you board our shuttle for our tours.

At the end of your tour you will also receive an information booklet covering some of the things you have learned during your time with us. We hope you can use this, your red light and your fresh knowledge of the cosmos to continue your exploration.

Join us

Details Join us for an evening under the Milky Way.

Our guides will take you on a tour first using the naked eye, where we discuss different stars and constellations as you learn to navigate the night sky. Warm the insides with a complimentary hot chocolate and snacks.

Get up close with our quality electronically guided telescopes. Great for looking at deep sky objects that cannot be seen with the naked eye, such as far away Galaxies.

Get even closer using our astrophotography equipment as you observe items being photographed and processed in real time!

Enjoy a free roam experience with our our range of manual telescopes. Our astro binoculars work great on our lounges, where you can lie back fully and gaze up at the wonders above. Pair these with our interactive star finder and test your navigation skills!

No large crowds

Details Being only a small group you will have great access of our range of scopes and expert commentary and guides available to answer your questions.

Our shuttle will depart and return from a central point within the village.

Looking to accommodate a larger group? Ask us about how we can tailor a package to suit you.

Family Exclusive

Details Tailored for families up to 2 adults and 3 children (5 to 16yrs) you will have sole use of our range of scopes and our guides undivided attention, plus complimentary snacks, this one is not to be missed!

Our shuttle will even pick you up and drop you off to your accommodation within the village!

Hot Chocolate warms the soul

Details Relax on one of our loungers, sipping a complimentary hot chocolate as you follow our guides tour of the night sky.

Allow approximately 120 minutes from pickup to drop-off back in the village.

Full Moon Tours

Details Does the moon affect how a tour operates?

On a near/full moon night the light from the moon makes it harder to see other objects in the sky. The great thing is we get to check out some amazing views of the moon, with a focus on learning about our natural satellite.

Better still, we'll still be looking at nebulae, star clusters and more using our powerful equipment.

dress for warmth

Details Please remember to bring warm clothing with you as the weather can be unpredictable.

We strongly recommend bringing a wind-proof jacket, gloves and a hat as well. Blankets will be provided on-site for your comfort.

Contact us if you have a child under the age of 5 so we can accommodate you.

Shuttle information

Details Please arrive at the pickup point 10 minutes prior to departure time.

The shuttle will depart from the bus / shuttle stop next to the public toilets on Jacks Pass Road, right next to the hot pools.

If you have booked a Family Exclusive tour we will collect you from your accommodation within the Hanmer Springs Village.

Remember to bring sturdy footwear and dress warmly as conditions can change at short notice. We recommend bringing a hat and gloves.

Travel in comfort

Details Travel in comfort from our central pickup point within the village to our dark sky location.

Cancellation Policy

Details We recognise that you cannot plan the weather. No charges apply if the tour is cancelled due to poor weather. If the next night is available, you will be given the option to rebook.

Guests will be notified no later than 30 minutes prior to tour start time of any tour cancellations.

Charges may apply if a booking is cancelled by the guest with less than 48 hours notice.
